Nancy D. Redmond, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at her home in Brewster, Massachusetts, with her loving family by her side. Born in Milford, Massachusetts on March 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles Hubert Draper and Beryl Hayward (Kimball) Draper. She was raised in Farmington, Connecticut, where she graduated from Farmington High School. Following her graduation, Nancy returned to Massachusetts, making her home in Sharon. While living in Sharon, she was able take the train to continue her studies at Wheelock College in Boston. After completing her bachelors degree at Wheelock, Nancy took a position with Jordan Marsh in Boston, working as a buyer.
Nancy married her beloved husband, John A. Redmond, on June 26, 1954, in Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon. Together, they made their home in Sharon, where Nancy took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. As her two children grew up and were enrolled in school, Nancy returned to her own education, taking courses at Bridgewater State College to earn her master's degree. With her masters degree in hand, Nancy took a position with the Sharon Public School System, working as a third-grade teacher at the Heights Elementary School. She continued her educational role until her retirement in 1996, after thirty-two years of dedicated service to her students.
In her retirement, Nancy and John made their home in Brewster, where they enjoyed everything the Cape had to offer. As avid travelers, Nancy and John looked forward to many trips to Ireland (37 in total), Williamsburg, Sedona, and Bermuda. Back at home, Nancy enjoyed keeping up with current events or finding a new favorite book. Most of all, Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, and was delighted at the birth of her great grandchildren.
