Michael Keigher

Michael Keigher, age 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home in Foxborough, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. He passed following an 8-year courageous battle with prostate cancer.  Born in Manchester, England on November 20, 1959, he is the son of Michael William and Marian (Cheetham) Keigher.  At the age of one, Mike immigrated to the United States of America with his parents, landing in Brooklyn, New York.  As a young boy, Mike moved up the east coast with his family, settling in Roslindale, Massachusetts, where he could be found playing baseball, football, and basketball with his buddies on any given day.  Mike went on to attend Catholic Memorial High School, prior to graduating from West Roxbury High School with the Class of 1977.

Mike married the love of his life, Elaine F. MacIsaac, on June 22, 1985, in Boston.  The couple made their home in the Roslindale area of Boston, before settling in Foxborough, Massachusetts in 1989.  Michael has worked for inventory control at W.B. Mason for the last 23 years.  While he worked hard, Mike knew how to relax and have fun, keeping a busy social calendar.  He was a longtime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) in West Roxbury. Mike had so many friends that he loved spending time with, traveling with Elaine to New Hampshire and Wareham often to ensure he kept in touch with all his buddies. No matter the occasion, if Motown was on you could not peel him off of the dance floor. At the end of a long day, there was nothing Mike enjoyed more than relaxing on his couch watching his favorite television shows, sipping a cold Bud Light.

Mike’s love for playing sports as a young man transitioned to a spectator role in more recent years, following all his favorite Boston teams.  He was an avid New England Patriots Fan, choosing his home in Foxborough close enough to hear the roar of the stadium on game day.  He also enjoyed trips to the Plainridge Racetrack with his neighborhood friends, trying his luck to pick a winner.  His competitive streak did not end at the track, since he knew a little bit about everything, he was a favorite teammate for game nights and yard games with friends and family.

Most of all, Mike was dedicated to his family.  As a young man, Mike and his father attended New England Patriots games at the stadium, and later he became a season ticket holder, continuing the tradition with his daughters.  He shared an incredibly special bond with his wife, Elaine, as they did everything together, holding a long-standing tradition of Saturday night dates.  Mike loved watching his girls grow up and was honored to walk them both down the aisle at their weddings.  He was overjoyed to earn the nickname, Grandad, when his granddaughter, Madelyn, was born.  He was the ultimate family man whether it be cooking up a great meal, hosting a BBQ by the pool, or relaxing with a great action movie. Each summer culminated in the annual Keigher family vacation to Marshfield, bringing relatives from near and far together to enjoy time together.

Loving husband of Elaine F. (MacIsaac) Keigher.

Cherished father of Kristen Leigh (Keigher) Kelley and her husband, John, of Wrentham and Jillian Kelsey Keigher and her wife, Karyn Arruda, of Fall River.

Adoring grandfather of Madelyn Kelley.

Devoted son of Michael William and Marian (Cheetham) Keigher of West Roxbury.

Brother of Terry Keigher and his wife, Christine, of Dedham and Allison Niland and her fiancé, Donn Bullens, of Dedham.

Also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Michaels's Life Celebration on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2 to 6 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

Elaine and family so sorry for your loss of Michael. It sounded like you two were made for each other and how proud he was of his girls. I always had fond memories of him when we were young. Frankie and Mike were good friends back then and he was always around. So sorry he had to fight a devastating disease. I am sure he will always be by your side. Sending prayers to you all. RIP Michael 🙏✝️🙏💔

My deepest sympathy to the entire family and many friends. Mike was such a special guy! He had the best lobster bakes in Marshfield. He loved playing horseshoes, going to Pat's games, hosting cookouts and hanging by the pool. He was the most loving husband and father. He was a great friend to so many. Mike, you will be greatly missed. Madelyn will get to know you through all of the stories she will be told. I am thankful that you were able to meet her and to walk Jillian down the aisle. I don't know anyone who fought harder and longer. I love you Michael. Rest In Peace🙏❤️

Love you Michael. So many beautiful memories of our girls growing up together. Family get togethers was the best. I so loved how much you loved my sister. You two definitely were the real deal. I can see your face light up watching you with your family. Even near the end the way you looked at your girls Kristen, Jillian and Elaine. The pride and joy was so amazing to witness all these years and the fun we all had together. My Seana also loved you so, so much. Row row row your boat merely down the lane. Memory of my daughter Seana growing up with her Uncle Michael. I'm sure my Seana grabbed you in heaven when you arrived. OMG the laughs and love just poured from you. You are so Special and truly So Loved. You will always be with us. I will hold onto my sister Elaine and always be there for her and your girls Kristen, Jillian and grand baby Madelyn . Rest easy dear friend and loving brother in law.
