Bryan G. Kelleher, of Walpole, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted wife, children and loyal dog Poe, parents, siblings and their spouses, after a valiant battle with cancer. Bryan will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and, above all, his tremendous love for his family.
From an early age, Bryan was a talented artist and athlete. Throughout his elementary and secondary education, he was recognized by many prestigious art awards and his work was often selected to be exhibited to showcase his talent at the state and local level. Bryan excelled at every sport he participated in, from riding bicycles with his brothers to Little League baseball, but his true love was ice hockey, both playing as a Norwood Nugget and cheering on the Boston Bruins.
After graduating from Norwood Senior High School, class of 1983, Bryan met his beloved wife, Lynn (Casey) of Needham, while a student at Rhode Island School of Design where he earned a BFA in Graphic Design in 1987. Married in 1990, they first settled in Westwood and then moved to Walpole, and were thrilled to welcome their children Lane and Bryan in 1993 and 1996, respectively. As a family, the “Walpole Kellehers” could be found at Craigville Beach on the Cape most summer weekends, enjoying time together beach combing, walking to Four Seas for ice cream, fishing from the jetty and cruising around in his beloved Boston Whaler. Bryan was a consummate family man who cherished watching the children grow and flourish; he was so proud to see daughter, Lane, finish the Boston Marathon in 2019 and son, Bryan, graduate with an MBA from Boston University earlier this year.
A talented, award-winning graphic designer, Bryan closed his 30+ year career at WCVB-TV, Channel 5, in Needham, MA as Design Director, where he received the esteemed Hearst Eagle Award for outstanding performance and commitment among a host of other professional accolades. Since 2019 Bryan has been an independent design professional, freelancing for major companies and initiatives, while, also, volunteering his time for Agape and other causes close to his heart.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Lynn, and children, Lane and Bryan, his parents, John Neil and Mary Kelleher of Norwood, and siblings Neil Kelleher (Carol) of Gig Harbor, WA; Barry Kelleher (Tamara) of San Diego, CA; Jane Sproul (Jonathan) of Boston; Meghan Kelleher Herzig (Kerry) of Walpole; Godmother Deborah Doyle of West Roxbury; along with Mother-in-Law Elaine Casey of Needham; Brother-in-Law Paul “Butch” Casey of Westwood in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Many lives were touched and made better by knowing Bryan during his too brief time on Earth. In keeping with Bryan's generous spirit, and with much gratitude to the staff at Dana-Farber for their outstanding service and care, the family asks that gifts be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Bryan’s memory: www.dana-farber.org/gift
